Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 KJV)
A great friend I have been blessed with once made this statement during a message he preached, “Pray until you feel peace.”
It reminded me of times in my prayer life, when I was at a loss for direction, or in need of a restoration in particular circumstances of life.
As a result of those times of earnest prayer, I ultimately found myself in a great peace. With great peace also comes a rise in one’s faith and assurance for the circumstance.
“Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 ASV)”
Blessed assurance in the plan of the Lord reminds us in our circumstance that Jesus is much greater and His promise for us will be fulfilled if we allow it to.
A passage of scripture tells us, “…And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:11-12 KJV)
From time to time we may find ourselves tired and weary in the circumstances of life, but I encourage you, in your prayer room or wherever you may find yourself, allow Jesus to renew that assurance in your life so that there may be a great burning in your soul, that declares, “no matter what may come my way, I will trust in Your great promises for my life.” ~ Jose Rodriguez
