What We Believe:

GOD

There is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father, in the Son, and through the Holy Spirit with distinct attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being. Jesus Christ is God displayed in flesh. He is both God and man. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

THE BIBLE
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, giving a true history of the creation of heaven, earth, and humanity and containing a correct prophecy of the ages to come regarding heaven, earth, and the destiny of humanity. There is no salvation outside of what is taught in its pages.

HUMAN BEINGS
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called ‘sin’. This attitude separates people from God and is the root cause of all suffering and heartache.

SALVATION
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us to God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. He was raised from the dead and now, by grace, offers eternal life as a free gift to all who follow Christ. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

The New Testament experience of salvation is received by grace through faith. As the author of salvation, Jesus made it clear that to enter the Kingdom of God a person needed to be born again. After preaching the good news concerning Jesus, Peter was asked by those who heard him, “what should we do?” (Acts 2:37) Peter answered them with the clear direction:

  • Repent,
  • be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sins and they would
  • Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Hebrews 5:9, John 3:3-5, Matthew 16:19, Acts 2:38.)

BAPTISM. We believe that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is expressed by calling on His Name in the waters of baptism. Water baptism is an act of obedience identifying with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life. We are baptized for the remission of our sins.

HOLY SPIRIT. We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today. Being filled with the Holy Spirit and developing the character qualities produced by His Spirit living in us are the privilege and obligation of all who follow Jesus.

Why?

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God’s kingdom on earth. We want to make sure that each one has the opportunity to spend eternity with Jesus and not miss out.
